University of Wyoming - 6
FINAL

GLENDALE, CO., March 7 – Despite an afternoon chill and an occasional snow flurry the Glendale Men Raptors warmed up early and were hot by halftime in their spring home opener against the University of Wyoming at Infinity Park. A flurry of scoring late in the period had the Raptors storming ahead to a 29 to 6 halftime score.

The weather held during the second half, but like a Wyoming snowstorm the Raptors never let up. The final score was The Glendale Raptors 67, University of Wyoming 6. More than 830 fans were on hand for the season opener.

Standout Raptors Forward Colin Bartolomeo, 18, was Dr. Proctor’s Lounge Game Day Player of the Match.

The Lady Raptor’s home opener at Infinity Park is March 21. The Lady Raptors play the University of Colorado at Boulder on March 15. The Men Raptors travel to Austin, Texas, to face the Austin Blacks.

The Glendale Raptors rugby program is among the best in the United States at the Club level. The men’s team was runner-up national champions, the women were in the playoffs and the high school team won a state trophy.

Glendale is the first city in the country to adopt rugby as its official sport and the $40 million Infinity Park rugby pitch is the nation’s first Rugby specific stadium.
