Women walk with a brilliant win, 39-5
Glendale, CO- In perfect conditions the Women Raptors played host to Air Force Women. Air Force came out strong driving into Raptor territory for the first 15 minutes. Fullback Claire Gregorich scored her 1st of three tries on a great run, Flyhalf Katie Thoreson hit the conversion. Air Force didn't give up and forced the Raptors into a lot of handling errors. The Raptor forwards then took charge after a 50 meter run by prop Julianne Deloy, which led to a converted try by wing Bri Dilley. Gregorich added another try before halftime to go into the half leading 19-0.
In the second half the Raptors made some substitutions, one being Lindsay Forhan who scored an early try in the second half. Prop Katie Wurst had a try off a brilliant rolling maul. The Air Force women capitalized on a block kick to score their only try. The Women Raptors added another try from Gregorich and a picked pass try by Thoreson to make the final score 39-5.
"The women rucked much better this week and the forwards had an outstanding day retaining the ball and setting up the backs for success." Coach Wendy Cook said.
"We look forward to a tough game on this Saturday against CU." she added.
