The Glendale Raptors Do What With Their Feet?

The Raptor bird is one of the few winged creatures to use its feet – rather than its beak - to capture its prey. Ask any of the Glendale Rugby players if this has any significance to the choice behind their mascot name and they simply grin in a cockeyed sort of way and rumble away before you can ask more questions.
Clearly, given their statistics after just one season of play, it’s apparent that the club name was aptly chosen. The U-19 (Under 19) and Senior Men’s Glendale Raptors first came together in 2006, making fast headway against local and regional competitors. In its first season of play, The Raptors achieved a 7-3 record during the fall season, putting this Club on the map as a strong contender moving up the ranks quickly.
Though primarily residing in the Denver area, many of these Raptors wing in from outskirt cities such as Boulder and Ft. Collins.
Coming up this fall in 2007, the Glendale Senior Men’s Team (20 years of age and older) will compete in the Western Rugby Division 1 league. In this swing-gate year ahead, The Raptors Club is focused on gaining national and international attention, and is seeking sponsors who want to be involved in the energy and excitement of this unique game.
