| "The Big Save" initiative launched by Xcel Energy helps consumers take action to save energy without compromising comfort in their homes. |
Xcel Energy is teaming up with the Glendale Raptors to make a "try" for energy efficiency in Colorado, and rugby fans at Infinity Park can help build momentum by joining the effort this season.
Hundreds of Xcel Energy customers have already taken part in "The Big Save," a state-wide initiative recently launched by the company to help consumers take action to save energy in their homes. As a sponsor of the Raptors game on Oct. 29, Xcel Energy will offer fans the opportunity to join "The Big Save" on-site at Infinity Park as the team faces the Denver Barbarians.
To join The Big Save, customers take a pledge to reduce their energy use by making a commitment to take five steps to change how they use energy at home. The steps range from simple actions like switching off lights to more significant changes, such as replacing an inefficient furnace or appliances.
"The Big Save is designed to help our customers feel committed and empowered to be part of something bigger by joining others in Colorado who have taken the pledge," said Xcel Energy Program Manager Chris Dierker. "The idea is that the bigger the effort, the greater the savings in energy, money and the environment."
Raptors fans can take The Big Save pledge at the Xcel Energy booth on game night. Those who take the pledge are eligible for giveaways and staff will be on hand to share information on additional ways consumers can save energy and money.
Xcel Energy will continue to have a presence in the stadium this season with prominent messages about how consumers can save energy without compromising comfort in their homes.
