Raptor Rugby Academy

What is the Academy?

An elite rugby academy designed to be the entrance point for Colorado High School boys to enter the US elite player pathway. Focus will be on six things: Strength and conditioning, nutrition, technical game knowledge, tactics, skills, and team play.

When is it?

The Raptor Rugby Academy will start with a parent / player meeting August 21st and run on the 2nd and 4th Sundays every month September through November and conclude with a 2 day camp on December 3-4. Sunday’s will begin at 2 PM and end at 4:30 PM. Each day will generally consist of on field sessions as well as film work and classroom sessions. The teams will play as ERRFU teams for the spring season and our elite side will compete for a national championship as the ERRFU representative in the Western regional playoffs. We are planning an international tour to Canada in the spring as well. Spring practice begins in January.

Who should be involved?

The Academy is designed to give professional advice and guidance to individuals to achieve their potential as a player both on and off the field. Any male athlete going into the 8th -12th grade who desires to become an elite rugby player can attend.

Where is it?

All sessions will be held at the High Altitude Training Center at Infinity Park in Glendale.

What is success?

Success will be measured by the number of U17s and U19s selected to attend next level camps, by the number of U17s and U19s selected to play for the US as well as success of our teams in tournaments.

What is the cost?

The cost for the Fall Season of the Raptor Rugby Academy is $75. This includes Academy gear, training diary, and all the expenses for the fall Academy sessions.

What are people saying?

The Raptor academy is exposing young Colorado athletes to high performance standards and preparing them to become future Eagles and Olympians. It’s important for young athletes to realize that rugby is a legitimate, high-level sport that can lead to representing your country in the Olympics or Rugby World Cup.
