My primary goal as the Women’s head coach is to create opportunities for players of all levels to advance in rugby. We will accomplish these by developing and promoting our senior and developmental 15s sides, and our 7s side to the highest possible level. Glendale should be an environment where both capped Eagles and rugby novices can come to learn about the sport of rugby and engage in meaningful competition.

Rugby is a players game — I believe in developing decision makers first, and then shaping them into highly skilled players. Players perform best when challenged and engaged; practices should be designed to do so. Every player has potential to improve, and should be challenged to do so. High level players with international aspirations can come to Glendale and train in a professional environment, and entry- or mid-level players can advance their rugby careers working with the many coaches and player resources available. Positive opportunities for players result in positive opportunites for teams.

I lived, played, and coached rugby in Colorado Springs during the 1990s, and left the state for professional reasons. After several years coaching out of state, I was contacted by Director of Rugby Mark Bullock about a coaching opportunity with the Glendale Raptors. I’d been wanting to return home to Colorado, and the opportunity to coach my previous rivals in a truly professional environment was something I could not pass up.
