The Glendale Women Raptors: A Lineage of Wins

Now the Glendale Raptors Senior Women's Team, these "girls in blue" were widely recognized for nearly 25 years as the girls in pink - the Colorado Olde Girls. The Colorado Olde Girls Rugby Club was founded in 1981 . . .
From there, the official party girls became the team that celebrated ongoing and consistent wins. Championships included 1997’s High Dessert Classic and Military Tournament, 1998’s Denver’s Super Summer 7s, five years of winning the famous Valentine’s Day Massacre Tournament in Breckenridge, 2001 High Plains Desert Tournament, and 2003’s Las Vegas Midnight 7s and the Sweet 16s.
Currently fielding nearly 30 players, these dedicated “senior” women (20 years and older) drive in from all points of the Front Range to participate in weekly practices. In the year ahead, the Glendale Raptor Women look forward to greater community and sponsor support as they’re almost 100% funding national travel and equipment out-of-pocket.
